* Thomsen vs. Sims was quite a thing that year. They had gone back and forth a few times throughout the duration of that season. On a state and national level that year, Sims seemed to be the only one capable of stopping Thomsen. Until Stotts in the 3rd place match.
* The Stotts vs. Thomsen matchbox 3rd place took place right in front of me while I was warming my brother up. I don’t think there was really any offensive scoring in this one. In fact, I think Stotts may have won 1-0 or 2-1 on an escape.
* Kyler Rieck seemed to run into either Sims or Thomsen EVERYWHERE that year… still put together a great year!
* All 8 of these guys qualified for state in high school.
* 6 of these guys placed at state: Sims, Rieck, Stotts, Thomsen, Mangold, Hanna.
* 3 of these guys were HS state champs: Rieck, Stotts and Thomsen.
*Some guys who got beat out of this one… Matthew Jordan, Dylan Harberts, Judd Grover, Austin Hellman, Jarron Trausch…there are probably more…
